Warning, warning! Saucy cosplaying time!

This is my upcoming costume for Phoenix Comicon in May. This picture WAS a work in progress. Now I completed the works and now, I’m going as Amy Pond in her Kissogram outfit.

This is me as one of the Master’s wives from Manos the Hands of Fate. I just need to work on the big 60’s hair!

One of little projects I did, this is my Gizmonics Institute dress shirt.

My first video for over a year!

This time, in order to keep the youtube police at bay,  I’m now reviewing public domain cartoons. When I review anime again? I’m not sure. But I am reviewing two Chinese animated movies and a poorly made Korean animated series if it makes you feel better. In my first episode, I reviewed a Betty Boop cartoon, “Poor Cinderella”. I know, I’m rusty. I’m going to get better soon!

let’s play catch-up: part 1

Oh, my God! I realize that it’s been over a year since my last entry as well as last video. So I decide to do you people of the blog-o-sphere a favor which is a playing catch-up of all of things I did for the past year. One of this is cosplaying as Mr. B Natural, the insanely perky sexless man-woman who brings the spirit of music from the infamous MST3K short entitled Mr. B Natural.

Kaiko: My Top Ten Americans in Anime

Sorry for the lateness of my post. First off, I been balancing a tight budget, going back to school (I’m going to Ottawa University to get my teaching certificate), dealing with family events, and working. Which also explains why I haven’t hanging out with my friends like I use to. So that’s why it’s either my belated July 4th special or my early August 2nd special. Depending on which historian you talk to.

My next episode, I’m feel like doing an anime based on video game so, Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf.

Miyuki-Chan in Wonderland Review

LESBIANS! Now that I have your attention, me and my minion Ian are celebrating the remaining days of Gay Pride Month by reviewing Miyuki-Chan in Wonderland. The reason we have so many cut-offs is because we were padding the episode. The entire anime series is 30 minutes long!

Next Episode: Top Ten Americans in Anime.

RR: Hanamaru Kindergarten

A part of me want to wait until I review this on Kaiko. But here's the thing, I don't want to wait ten years to review this. Also, what if this anime series will never be licensed and dubbed into English voices? So... here's a random review of Hanamaru Kindergarten.

Hanamaru Kindergarten (picture left) is about a guy named Tsuchida-sensei, who is the only male in whole kindergarten (even the principal is female). In fact, it was mention that in Japan, there's one male teacher for every fifty female teachers. In the series, you get to know Tsuchida-sensai such as he can't cook or clean, he's gaming otaku and he likes NGE. Anyway, after an encounter with one of his students, Anzu, her name means "apricot", she has a crush on Tsuchida-sensei and tries to gets his attention but Tsuchida-sensei more interested in one of his coworkers, the pretty, nice yet flaky Yamamoto-sensei. As for physical appearance, let's put it this way, Tsuchida-sensei is a breast-man. Hint, hint. What I like about this series are the characters, like Sakura, Anzu's mother as well as Tsuchida's senpai and best friend from his childhood. I couldn't help but write fan fiction in my head about those two. There's Satsuki, Tsuchida's little sister who has brother complex. Another one is one of Anzu's best friend, Koume, who is sweet and shy one. My favorite is Anzu's other best friend, Hii-chan, because she's a genius at the kindergarten yet she's prone to cosplay as different characters or animals. When I saw her in the first episode, she's at home with his father and she's reading a book while dressing up as a cat. So far, I watched six episodes and I anticipating what other characters would show up in the series, especially, this Yakuza guy who always do good deeds like recycling. I was watching the opening credits and I laughed when I see the Yakuza guy handing one of the kids her ball back and she cries because he's scary looking. I mean would you when you're that age and a guy like that approach you? I like the different ending theme songs at every episodes, reminds me of Lucky Star where they have different ending theme songs.

Side note, I like how they made references to other animes such as FMA and NGE. I'm too lazy for write down the whole series titles.

One of the moments I like in the series is where the kindergarten principal telling one of the teachers that even though Tsuchida-sensei seems unreliable at first, she still have faith in him once he gets the hang of it and wants to see kind of students he will turn them into because the teacher's personality reflects on the students such as the laid-back teacher will have laid-back students, the mature teacher will have mature students, the athletic teacher will have athletic students, the warm Yamamoto-sensei will have warm students. When one of the teachers ask why the principal didn't mentions her students, the principal replies that her students lack composure, this humorously upsets the teacher.

So far, it's a very good cutesy slice of life anime, which I like. I'm a sucker for cutesy and I like slice of life comedic anime series. I'll kept watching Hanamaru Kindergarten, it's quiet interesting. It's been awhile since I watched a slice of life anime comedy.

Kaiko: The Castle of Cagliostro

Oops! I forgot to post this new review days ago. Silly me. Anyway, this is a video review of 1979 seminal classic, The Castle of Caligostro. This movie is the first of the many directed and co-wrote by The Great Hayao Miyazaki. Oh, yeah, it's also the second Lupin III movie as well.

BTW, I forgot to add this in video, the clip of Blazing Saddles are owned by their respected owners.

My next episode: the OVA film 3x3 Eyes.

RR: Gift

I am guilty of being addicted to applications on the iPhone/iPod Touch. So, as a both a app addict and a geek, you should see the look on my face when I found out that there are Japanese dating simulation games in the app store. One of which is called "Gift". What's best that game is in English. Then, my excitement faded quickly.

Three words: It's so boring! I was expecting something out of this, a naked Lolita, a picture of curry and something on fire. Something! Anything! It turns out that the dating simulation game I was playing is actually a visual novel, which is like a dating simulation game with more reading. But "Gift" is all reading and no game, and the text of the game is boring and it has a lot of spelling and grammar errors. I don't care if the game is a harem game or a game where I (if I were a boy) have sex with lots and lots of Japanese school-girls between the ages of 13-17, I want to play games and that's it!

It starts out in some guy's (that's you) childhood where he was tearfully separate with his sister while on a train station. I thought because they're parents are divorced, ergo, that would lead up with the two kids splitting up. Nope, it's not like that. Apparently, some guy's (again, that's you) mom died while giving birth to him and the sister in the story is like a foster sister by some strange way. Like any other romance in anime, manga and visual novel, your male character is surrounded and bombarded with various types of women. In "Gift", there's Tama, the older yet still younger-looking, cute scientist who looks twice as cute wearing glasses. Kirino, the extremely timid girl who is similar to Frau Bow from Gundam without the moxie in a sense that she comes to some guy's(remind you the final time, that's you) house to wake you up and cook your breakfast. Obviously, she has a crush on you. There's more girls in this harem story, but I'm had enough playing that game. I think there is the typical "Twilight Suzuka"-like girl. But the dialogue is so boring because your character is a pure idiot. He has no idea that the timid girl or the girl that is your foster sister is crushing on you.

Oh! Oh! Final note, you think mangas have the case of ellipsis (IE:...). This game has extreme case of the ellipsis in the world. Half the dialogue is just ellipsis either it's you or the girls you're interacting. Like to leave this review with this statement, "Gift" has pretty pictures of cute Lolita-like girls but not a great app game.
